PLA Jars Making Your Product Environmentally Friendly

PLA jars, also known as the poly-lactic acid bottle, and it's fast becoming the go-to bottle as you work to go green and make your products environmentally friendly for your customers.

PLA is a plastic substitute that's made from fermented plant starch -- very often corn -- mainly sugar cane elsewhere in the world. As a result, it's rapidly gaining popularity to the more traditional petroleum-based plastics and is set to become a serious replacement.

PLA breaks down into water and carbon dioxide. It won't disintegrate or degrade while stored on shelves.

PLA looks, handles, and feels just like plastic.

PLA can handle hot items up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit and 200 degrees Fahrenheit for utensils

The PLA bottles are freezer-safe.

It is compostable in approximately 6-12 months in a home composter. It will be unrecognizable from the rest of the compost.

Each jar can be bespoke designed to your requirements

Our jars are made from Polylactic Acid (PLA), an annually renewable plant source, rather than scarce fossil fuels. The bottles produce 60% less greenhouse gases and use 50% less fossil fuels in their production.

PLA is derived 100% from plants such as corn, cassava and sugar beet. As the plants grow they consume harmful greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2). only 0.04% of the annual global corn crop is used to make all PLA plastics from our supplier, so there is little to no impact on food supply or prices.

PLA jars will bio-degrade in conditions >60° C, and will burn without releasing pollutants into the atmosphere. Plant made bottles produce an acceptable compost material under industrial composting conditions, according to standard BS EN 13432, having shown that they biodegrade under industrial composting conditions, fully compostable without releasing pollutants into the atmosphere.
