Research shows that the top 100 manufacturing counties and cities in the country have strong manufacturing functions. In 2022, the total GDP of the top 100 manufacturing counties (cities) in the country will reach 12.08 trillion yuan, accounting for 9.98% of the country, an increase of 0.14 percentage points from the previous year; while the total output value of the manufacturing industries above designated size will reach 17.00 trillion yuan, The proportion in the country reached 12.33%, an increase of 0.77 percentage points from the previous year; the overall growth rate of manufacturing output value above designated size reached 8.20%, which was also higher than the national rate of 5.90%. In addition, the proportion of high-tech manufacturing enterprises in the top 100 manufacturing counties (cities) in the country reached 3.1%, and the number of invention patents granted per 10,000 people reached 17.6, both far higher than the national level.
Research results show that the top 10 manufacturing counties (cities) in the country in 2023 are Kunshan City, Zhangjiagang City, Wafangdian City, Taicang City, Changshu City, Jiangyin City, Renhuai City, Changsha County, Yixing City and Cixi City. Among them, Wafangdian City is also the only county (city) in Liaoning Province shortlisted for the top 100 manufacturing industries. Jixia Think Tank's National County Economic Manufacturing Competitiveness Index shows that the top 100 manufacturing counties and cities in the country in 2023 are distributed in 16 provinces, with Jiangsu accounting for 22 seats, the largest number; followed by Zhejiang, accounting for 18 seats; manufacturing counties in Shandong and Henan ( There are also a large number of cities), reaching 15 and 10 seats respectively; Fujian and Hubei each have 8 seats; Hunan accounts for 5 seats, Anhui accounts for 4 seats, Hebei accounts for 3 seats, Guangdong, Guizhou, Jiangxi, Liaoning, Ningxia, Shaanxi and Sichuan only holds 1 seat respectively.
The competitiveness evaluation system of the top 100 manufacturing counties (cities) in the country includes 5 first-level indicators and 10 second-level indicators. The first-level indicators are the development foundation index, the growth momentum index, the industrial scale index, the enterprise efficiency index and the innovation capability index; the second-level indicators are the GDP scale, the proportion of industrial added value in GDP, the growth rate of manufacturing output value above designated size, and industrial projects. Investment growth rate, manufacturing output value above designated size, number of employees in manufacturing industry above designated size, profit margin of manufacturing output value above designated size, per capita output value above designated size, number of invention patents granted per 10,000 people, proportion of the number of high-tech enterprises in the manufacturing industry, etc.
