Bought "Moutai" cartons, filled them with cheap liquor, sealed the boxes and packaged them as "authentic Moutai" for sale at a low price - the police in Ouhai District, Wenzhou recently cracked a fraud case, and two people were arrested on suspicion of fraud.
At the end of March, Mr. Zheng, who runs a tobacco and alcohol shop in Ouhai, met someone who came to sell a box of Kweichow Moutai liquor that had been paid off by others and had not been opened. In his line of business, because selling whole boxes of Moutai is more profitable than loose bottles, he usually does not unpack the box when buying, but inspects the wine by checking the outer packaging and weighing. Mr. Zheng confirmed that the outer packaging of this box of wine was original and there was no trace of unsealing, and the weighing was also consistent with the authentic product, so he paid 15,000 yuan, which was about 3,000 yuan lower than the market price. But after buying it, the more he thought about it, the more he muttered. He opened the box and checked, and found that it contained a bottle of white wine with a market price of more than 20 yuan and a pack of sandbags for counterweight, and immediately called the police.
The police found that there have been 8 similar cases across the country recently, and the modus operandi was very similar. The suspects were identified through research and judgment-Luo and Hu after the "95", and they were arrested in Fujian in early May. It is understood that the two are both from Renhuai, Guizhou. In February, they bought some Moutai cardboard boxes at a price of 400 to 500 yuan each, packed them with low-priced liquor, and drove them to sell in Hunan, Jiangxi, Guizhou, Zhejiang and other places. More than 10 tobacco and alcohol shops were cheated, involving more than 100,000 yuan.
