On July 2, 2024, the WTO Safeguard Committee released the safeguard notification submitted by the Turkish delegation on June 30. According to the Turkish presidential decree, Turkey will impose a three-year safeguard duty on imported corrugated paper (Other Paper and Cardboard) from July 28, 2024, as follows: US$87/ton in the first year, US$86/ton in the second year, and US$85/ton in the third year.

　　The Turkish tax numbers of the products involved are 4805.12.00.00.00, 4805.19.10.00.00, 4805.19.90.00.00, 4805.24.00.00.00, and 4805.25.00.00.00.

　　On January 12, 2024, the Turkish Ministry of Trade issued Announcement No. 2024/1, initiating a safeguard investigation on imported corrugated paper at the request of domestic manufacturers in Turkey. On June 28, 2024, the Turkish Ministry of Trade issued Announcement No. 2024/7, making a final ruling on the safeguard measures on imported corrugated paper and recommending the imposition of a three-year safeguard duty on the products involved.
