The Chinese delegation performed well in this competition, ranking first in the gold medal list, medal list and total team score with 36 gold medals, 9 silver medals, 4 bronze medals and 8 winning awards. At the closing ceremony, Shanghai, as the venue for the 48th WorldSkills Competition, conducted a handover of the WorldSkills Competition flag with Lyon.

  The Chinese delegation achieved many breakthroughs

 

  The WorldSkills Competition is held every two years and is known as the "WorldSkills Olympics". It is an important platform for members of the WorldSkills Organization to display and exchange professional skills. The 47th WorldSkills Competition has 59 competition events in six categories: transportation and logistics, structure and construction technology, manufacturing and engineering technology, information and communication technology, creative arts and fashion, and social and personal services.

 

  The many breakthroughs made by the Chinese delegation in this WorldSkills Competition are eye-catching. A total of 68 contestants were sent to participate in all competition events, with the largest scale of participation in history and the most complete entries; the average age of the contestants was 22 years old. Among them, contestants in the Manufacturing Team Challenge project won the National Best Player Award, and contestants in the Industry 4.0 project were the highest in the competition. Won the "Albert Vidal" award; the CNC milling project achieved the "five consecutive gold medals", the two masonry and fashion technology projects achieved the "four consecutive championships", and won gold and silver in the 6 project competitions for the first time. …

 

  "China has sent an unprecedented number of participating teams, with excellent performance in various skill fields.   Sun Weilong, a student from Shandong Industrial Technician College, won the gold medal in the plumbing and heating project. During the competition, he needed to complete a series of complex operations such as the production and installation of gas and heating pipelines, and the installation of pipelines for the water supply and drainage system. Zhu Bin, an expert on the project and a teacher at Shandong Industrial Technician College, said that this year is the third time that the Chinese delegation has participated in the competition. With the increasing emphasis on the construction of a skilled talent team, China's performance in this project has steadily improved.

 

  At the competition site, Loris, a French contestant in the 2022 World Skills Competition Special Competition, was attentively observing the operations of the Chinese CNC milling contestants. He told reporters that this competition uses computer numerical control milling machines to design and process complex parts. It not only competes in speed, but also in accuracy. "Each player has a different operating style. I'm looking forward to seeing what operating tips the Chinese players have."

 

  "The WorldSkills Competition is not only a competition, but also a platform for learning and exchange." Zhao Changheng, leader of the Chinese technical guidance expert group for the gardening project of the competition and professor of Huangshan University, told reporters that more than half of the participating members of the gardening project are from Europe, and construction standards and usage The elements also have strong European horticultural characteristics. Before each World Skills Competition, the Horticulture Project China Training base will organize an international exchange competition for the project to help team members continuously expand their horizons. Liu Xinru, a contestant in the sugar art and pastry making project, told reporters after winning the award: "Participating in the competition has allowed me to come into contact with more outstanding colleagues and friends from various countries. This is a greater gain than a gold medal."

 

  Chinese companies help raise global skills standards

 

  China joined the WorldSkills Organization in 2010 and participated in the WorldSkills Competition for the first time in 2011. It has participated in 7 competitions so far. At the closing ceremony, Shanghai took over the WorldSkills Competition flag, and the WorldSkills Competition entered "China time" and "Shanghai time". "China attaches great importance to youth skills development, and Shanghai will definitely be able to present a wonderful and creative WorldSkills Competition." said Chris Humphreys, Chairman of WorldSkills.
