The steady growth of the digital economy has laid a solid foundation for the reform, innovation and development of digital trade.

Tang Wenhong, Assistant Minister of Commerce, introduced that digital trade, with data as the key element, digital services as the core, and digital ordering and digital delivery as the main features, has become a new trend in the development of international trade and a new growth point in economic development. Since 2023, China's digital trade has developed rapidly. In the first half of 2024, China's import and export of digitally deliverable services reached 1.42 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.7%, a record high; cross-border e-commerce import and export reached 1.22 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.5%, also reaching a record high. The supporting role of trade in high-quality development continues to increase.

At the same time, China’s digital trade competitiveness has improved significantly. The "cloud economy" ecosystem has gradually taken shape, giving rise to new service outsourcing formats and models such as crowdsourcing, cloud outsourcing, and platform subcontracting. In 2023, China's offshore service outsourcing execution volume will reach US$151.36 billion, and overseas sales revenue of independently developed games will reach US$16.67 billion. Many leading games are widely recognized overseas and have long been at the top of the download list. The overseas market size of online literature exceeded 4 billion yuan.
