For some time, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other places have aimed at the goal of being a gathering place for the robot industry, promoting the sharing of resources such as innovation, manufacturing, and services, and achieving a simultaneous jump in the robot industry chain, supply chain, and innovation chain. A large number of robot products have been widely used in factories, supermarkets, homes and other life scenes, and my country's robot industry has made remarkable achievements.
At present, the global robot industry has entered a period of rapid development, and my country is firmly among the leaders. According to statistics, since the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the scale of my country's robot industry has grown rapidly, with an average annual compound growth rate of approximately 15%. In 2020, the operating income of the robot industry exceeded 100 billion yuan, and the output of industrial robots reached 212,000 units (sets). It has become the world's largest industrial robot market for 11 consecutive years. In the past three years, the number of new installations accounted for more than half of the world's. In the field of humanoid robots, the scale of my country's humanoid robot industry will grow to 3.91 billion yuan in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 85.7%. It is expected that by 2026, the scale of my country's humanoid robot industry will exceed 20 billion yuan.
In recent years, my country has attached great importance to the forward-looking layout of future industrial development, and has successively introduced policy measures to accelerate and support the robot industry. In December 2021, the "14th Five-Year Plan for Robot Industry Development" issued by multiple departments proposed that by 2025, my country will become the source of global robot technology innovation, a gathering place for high-end manufacturing, and a new highland for integrated applications; by 2035, our country will The comprehensive strength of the robot industry has reached the international leading level, and robots have become an important part of economic development, daily life, and social governance. In February 2023, the "Robot+" Application Action Implementation Plan jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other 17 departments proposed to select key areas with a certain foundation, wide application coverage, and strong radiation and driving effects in response to the improvement of social livelihood and economic development needs. , focusing on typical application scenarios and user needs, and carrying out systematic promotion work from robot product development, technological innovation, scenario application to model promotion. As of July this year, my country holds more than 190,000 valid robot-related patents, accounting for about two-thirds of the world's total. The accumulation of these patents and technologies has provided a solid foundation for the further development of my country's robot industry. In 2022, the number of registered industrial robot-related companies in my country exceeded 70,000 for the first time. From January to October 2023, the number of newly registered companies reached 76,667, showing a rapid growth trend. As of February this year, the number of existing humanoid robot companies in my country reached 24,747, including more than 20 listed companies.
From the emergence and improvement of the steam engine to the first industrial revolution, it has experienced a long and twists and turns process. Similarly, we are currently in a critical brewing period for artificial intelligence to improve and form changes. One of the keys to this process is whether artificial intelligence can be efficiently and quickly integrated into the human physical world. Robots are one of the main channels through which artificial intelligence technology leads to the physical world. The efficiency of application promotion will directly determine the development speed of the artificial intelligence industry. In addition, the world is in a critical period of competition in the robot industry. Whoever can take the lead in application and technology will have a major impact on its role in the new round of industrial revolution. Our country should do top-level thinking and key measures from three aspects: respecting laws, improving competitiveness, and creating promotion conditions.
Promote the development of the robot industry according to objective historical laws. Unswervingly developing the robot industry will inevitably have twists and turns, but the general trend is clear. The development of the robot industry should be considered and promoted based on the demand side, and the integration of technology and products with people's daily lives should be promoted.
Strengthen independent innovation in core technologies and enhance industrial competitiveness. Enterprises and scientific research institutions are encouraged to increase investment in research and development of key robotic technologies and improve technical capabilities in perception, recognition, decision-making and action. Through the integration of industry, academia and research, we will establish a technology research and innovation cooperation platform to break through key technology bottlenecks and promote the rapid industrial application of independent technologies. Strengthen the collaborative cooperation between upstream and downstream enterprises, promote the coordinated development of core component manufacturing, software development, system integration and other links, and enhance the competitiveness of the entire industry chain. The government guides and supports civilian robot companies to develop in a high-end and intelligent direction, enhances the industrial cluster effect, and forms an internationally competitive civilian robot industry cluster.
Discover real needs and improve the soft environment for promotion. At the current stage, it is not easy to discover, identify, and cultivate real demand scenarios for robot products in daily life. The first principle should be to judge whether the introduction of robot products with different maturity levels will bring obvious comparative advantages. We cannot rely on the scenarios imagined by inventors, developers, and entrepreneurs. Establish a sound legal, ethical, and customary soft environment for the promotion of robot products in real-demand scenarios, protect the intellectual property rights and profits of technology research and development companies and individuals, eliminate potential risks in related applications, and reduce the difficulty for people to accept new things and new models.
